With winter just around corner we can’t wait for crisp dog walks, cosy fireside evenings and hoping for sprinkling of snow too. But what about our skin? How has it faired after the summer? Autumn s the perfect time to give our skin the much-needed attention it craves for post summer skin recovery.
Here are some tips covering everything from healing chapped lips to rejuvenating sun-damaged skin this is our post-summer skin “rehab” care!
Smooth it out – Tired dull skin needs regular exfoliation to remove dry/dead skin cells. This is one of the most important aspects of our skincare routine for face and body. Exfoliation not only helps many skin problems, it also increases blood circulation, which helps to achieve healthy and glowing skin. We have recently discovered the delights of yoghurt! Yoghurt contains lactic acid, a natural alpha hydroxy acid that actively dissolves dead skin cells! Make a paste of thick yoghurt & honey and apply. Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes, rinse off and your skin will feel soft, smooth and deliciously moisturised.
Improve Hydration – Dull, tight and tired skin requires an intense hydrating boost to plump and firm the skin. Nura’s Vitamin C Peptide Serum is formulated with Honey, Hyaluronic Acid & Jojoba Esters that actively increases the moisture content of the skin, Not forgetting Vitamin C, a powerful anti-oxidising vitamin helps repair post sun damage and helps boost collagen levels in the skin.
Fade brown spots – the sun’s UV rays trigger the production of melanin (the skin’s pigment) resulting in dark spots, seen on the face, hands, and other overexposed areas. With regular application of lightening agents to the skin will help stop additional and new melanin production and may even improve existing pigmentation by targeting “tyrosinase”, the enzyme responsible for uneven skin tone. Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) is clinically proven to control pigmentation and is found in our Vitamin B3 “Moisturising and Balancing” creams, together with skin brightening Licorice Root and Bearberry extracts.
Moisturise, Moisturise – the most effective time to apply a moisturiser is at night, combined with the regenerating qualities of sleep with an overnight intense moisturiser -Nura’s Renewal Night Oil Complex with potent Vitamin A, Co-enzyme Q10 and 6 potent anti-oxidizing plant oils will renew, repair & regenerate our skin. On waking, our skin look refreshed, beautifully soft and renewed.
Soothe Dry, irritated skin – If your skin is feeling irritated, dry and flaky now is the time to start applying an oil balm – Our Nutri-Pure Balm is perfect, with no added colour or fragrance. Sun Damage can exacerbate sensitive skin issues, using the balm will help to heal, soothe and combat dry, rough irritated skin. Blended with wonderful healing properties of Carrot Tissue and Sea Buckthorn Oil.
We love combining Nura’s Nutri-Pure Balm with our products for extra nourishment & protection – here are some tips:
- If your skin is in need of a deep moisture boost, apply alayer of the balm to the face and leave on for 20 minutes – then apply a warm damp facecloth and this will heat the oils and butters so you can massage directly into the skin.
- Blend a small amount of the balm with our Day Cream(s) for added daily protection.
- Give your hands a moisture therapy treatment. Blend a small amount of the Pure-Nutri Balm with Nura’s Moisturising Hand Cream for a intense moisturising treatment, great for dry parched back of hands and cuticles.
